Tax Revenue Appeals Board is a quasi-judicial institution. Administratively the Board is an  Institution under the Ministry of Finance and Planning. TRAB jurisdictions are stipulated under section 7 of the Tax Revenue Appeals Act, Cap. 408. which states that "The Board shall have sole original jurisdiction in all proceedings of a civil nature in respect of disputes arising from revenue laws administered by the Tanzania Revenue Authority"
